Klaus Hofsaess

Voted Trainer of the Year in German Sports in 1987, Klaus Hofsaess is Germany’s most successful tennis coach.

Under his leadership, the German women won the Team World Cup twice, in 1987 in Vancouver against the USA, and in 1992 in Frankfurt against Spain.

As manager of the German women’s team, Klaus Hofsaess coached Steffi Graf (among others) for 16 years, helping her to achieve 22 Grand Slam titles, including the Golden Slam in 1988.

He has coached players in over 80 Grand Slam tournaments and four Olympic Games: Los Angeles in 1984, Seoul in 1988, Barcelona in 1992, and Atlanta in 1996, winning a total of two gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze medal.

In 1996 he led Boris Becker and Anke Huber to their victory at the Mixed World Championship in Perth, Australia.

In 1984, Klaus Hofsaess founded the Hofsaess Academy in Marbella, in southern Spain.

Eight Grand Slam winners and many world-class players have trained under his direction at the legendary tennis academy on the mountain on the Costa del Sol.
